Succulents!

In the last year I've really fallen in love with succulents. Flowers are great but I realize I'm much more drawn to greenery. I love the look of succulents. With their interesting shapes and simplicity of care. Last weekend I put together my own arrangement of succulents and it was pretty easy!

What you'll need: 

Succulent - any plant of your choosing!

Dirt

Rocks

Glass or jar to plant in - I found all my glassware at Goodwill!

Fill your container about half way and then add in your plant. I added rocks to the top partly for decoration and also in the bottom for drainage in the larger container. 

Water sparingly. I recommend using a spray bottle once a week. Just give it a nice spritz and place in a sunny spot.

Fashion Fridays: Catching up with OutLook

Can you tell we are excited about the weekend? Today for Fashion Fridays we are catching up with OutLook Clothing. You may remember them from their previous Fashion Fridays feature in June. Today we are checking in with this up and coming brand to see how they have grown and changed. Today is also the day they release their newest shirt!

What does the new shirt represent? 

Palms Tee Pt 2 is a representation of our first shirt. It's pretty much the first shirt we ever designed, but with a minor change. We decided to re-release it to give our new and recent supporters a chance to cop the tee.

What has changed for OutLook in the past few months? 

Our amount of support has increased and we have finally set up a small office thanks to one of our founders, Oscar. One big change is that one of our founders, Alex (Ashley's brother) moved up to Eugene, Oregon for college, but we have managed to keep up our work and involve him as much as we can so we can become a more successful brand.

What other designs and products do you have coming up? 

This is part one of three drops in our Fall/Winter line. We will be releasing 2 other tees, one might be a long sleeve, and possibly some headwear.

Cabin Essentials

This weekend I am heading up to my family's cabin with my college BBF/ "my person" Amy. I am so excited to get away for a weekend and simply do nothing. Plans for the weekend include movie watching, nail polish-ing, reading, sleeping, wine drinking, and every other relaxing things that you can end in -ing. I have put together a little "Cabin Essentials" list, however this can be used for any time you wanna have a relaxing weekend with your girls!

Monthly Mood: November

Happy November!

The year is just flying by isn't it? This upcoming month we have a lot of fun coming your way! We have invested in a new camera, so you will be seeing a lot more photography on the blog, outfit posts, crafts, adventures, cooking! Be on the look out this month for some book reviews, especially since we both have been reading so much while commuting to work.

Ashley is looking forward to whipping up some fun fall recipes - pumpkin french toast and kale-sausage-tortellini soup are coming your way! We are both obsessing over The Walking Dead, and love getting together and watching it every Sunday! The weather is getting crisp and Kira is loving being able to bring out her coats! We are both so ready for the stylish comfy fashions of fall and winter. Bring on the seasonal change, we invite it! We have a lot of fun activities this month too, a few housewarming parties, Ashley is heading up to her cabin, the Mockingjay movie premier, and of course Thanksgiving!

Fashion Fridays: How To Dress Like An Icon

Happy Halloween!!!

On today's very special edition of Fashion Fridays we are showing you how to dress like some of the most fashionable ladies of the past and present.

Pile on the flowers, embroidery and boho jewelry and you can easily become the beautiful and talented Frida. Don't be shy, pencil in that iconic unibrow and throw on a red lip!

Who wouldn't wanna be Queen B for a day! Grab a bodysuit and all black everything and your half way there! I'd say the other half of this costume is having the attitude of Yonce! BOW DOWN!

The beautiful Josephine Baker can be pulled off in many ways. Here we have a more modern look, also one that won't get you arrested! The sheer top and yellow skirt are a great nod to her iconic topless/banana skirt look. Add some great art deco accessories and glam up your makeup!

Madonna's fearless & fun 1980's look can be achieved but items in your closet! A black crop top, full skirt, and combat boots are the base of the fit. Make sure to tease your hair and add a fun bow!! 

Audrey's look is classic and timeless. Achieve her Breakfast at Tiffany's look with a black dress, cat eye sunnies, and add a cat accessory for a nod to her nameless pet. Or for her Funny Face look throw on a black turtleneck and skinny jeans complete the look with a pony and bangs. 

Fashion's sometimes scariest icon can be put together with a black skirt and blazer with a class black pair of pumps. Make sure to carry an issue of Vogue and wear some oversized sunglasses!
