We are dying to travel to one of these colorful cities!!

So... when can we buy tickets to this epic concert?

This tribute to The Sound Of Music at the Academy Awards was so beautiful, we have been wanting to have a movie night ever since!

Such a crazy new fan theory about Ashley's favorite movie!

Ashley is dying for this J Crew Panama Hat for summer - perfect for traveling and BBQs!

Goodbye Parks and Rec!

We are literally the saddest people IN the world.

One of our favorite shows, Parks and Recreation is ending. We both were late-bloomers to the show. Binge-watching on Netflix last year when we were working odd-jobs. If you haven't watched it we highly recommend you Treat Yo'Self to a marathon. The show follows a group of hilarious co-workers in Pawnee, Indiana as they run their Parks and Rec department. Every character is perfectly put together and each show I laugh out loud. We are looking forward to watching the final espisode together while eating waffles (Leslie's favorite) and we can hopefully get our hands on some of Tom's Snake Juice. Farewell Parks and Rec!

Bring Your Pins to Life : January Recap

One of my New Years Resolutions is to try out more of my Pinterest projects. I love Pinterest and I think it is a great way to give blogger's ideas and projects a platform! I have challenged myself to do a new project every week and they can't all be food projects. Here is my little January recap.

Tikka Masala

My first project of the new year! I whipped up a big batch of this on a Saturday to eat during the week for lunches. While this was a great recipe, there are some tweaks I would make to it if I made it again. 1. Not use as many tomatoes 2. Use a mix of cream and a good brand of coconut milk. I think next time I would make sure I didn't cook it as long (I wanted everything to be mixed together) but it make the chicken fall apart. Lastly, I would definitely marinate my chicken for a while before in a yogurt sauce, then do a dry rub of spices.

Hair Mask

 http://www.indianbeautyspot.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/h76.jpg

I've always loved a good at-home hair mask. Always a great thing to do while watching reality TV on a Sunday afternoon. This was a great mask and one that I would try again. I love using coconut oil in my hair and the addition of the lemon juice made it smell great! My hair and scalp felt smooth and full of life after!

Carmel Apple Cheesecake

Caramel Apple Mini Cheesecakes with Streusel Topping | Cooking Classy

I made these for a dinner party that Kira and I had with our friends when we exchanged our Secret Santa gifts. Let me tell you - these were a hit! They were really easy to make, and had so much flavor! While it did take some time to make because there are a lot of different steps, it never felt like it was a hard or that the measurements had to be perfect. I can't wait to try other types!

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Pull Apart Bread

A delicious 1-time-a-year food! I made this for a family event and it was goooooddddd and obviously super healthy! This is really easy to put together and was a huge hit, however I would highly recommend using bread that is more on the stale as it would be easier to cut and stay "standing". My bread deflated and became more life a flat bread!

Check back in March to see what projects I completed in February!!

Interweb Goodies: Academy Awards Edition

Hump Day! It's here - and so quick! One of Ashley's favorite days of the year is the Academy Awards. She loves seeing what everyone is wearing, predicting who will win, and spending time with friends! Take a look below at some Academy Awards inspired links!

Love this Infograpic of what Best Actress winners have won over the years - Ashley's favorites are Audrey Hepburn's 1954 Givenchy dress, Julia Robert's 2001 Valentino, and Jennifer Lawrence's 2013 Dior dress!

Cheryl Strayed who wrote "Wild" is wearing a dress by a local designer out of her hometown of Portland which we think is awesome!

Some fun Oscar's trivia to impress your friends with while you are watching the show.

A great idea for what to serve at your viewing party

And finally a list of nominees and predictions!

Check back tomorrow for some ideas on what to do for your viewing party!

Fashion Fridays: Grammy's Fashion

Happy Friday folks! We are so looking forward to a relaxing and friend-filled three day weekend! Galentines Day is here, we are gonna catch 50 Shades of Grey, and heading up to Napa on Sunday for some wine tasting!

We were really inspired by some of the looks at last weekend's Grammy's, see below for our list of favorites! Also, make sure to keep up on Instrgrams this weekend for inspiration from NYFW!

Our Faves of the night

Gwen Stefani

Anyone who can rock a jumpsuit (especially on the Red Carpet) is a winner in our eyes. We can't wait to replicate this look on a night out soon!

Taylor Swift

"You know it's real because I don't even like her" - Kira. While Ashley is more of a Taylor Swift fan than Kira, we can both agree that this interesting cut and great color combo is a winner! Ashley is now on the hunt for shoes that color and a bold dress!

Jennifer Hudson

We love the sleek and simple look of this dress! Jennifer Hudson always is a stunner on the Red Carpet and this white number didn't disappoint. We are feeling inspired by crispy whites for Spring!

Anna Kendrick

We are all about the sexy tomboy vibe. She is one of the most covered up stars on the carpet but still manages to look sexy and appropriate. Love this look!

What were some of your favorite Red Carpet looks? Let us know below!

AKA Bookshelf: The Circle

I've had my eye on the novel The Circle by Dave Eggers for quite awhile. Admittedly I have my own conspiracies about large corporations and I was excited to see a novel explore the idea and darkness behind a large scale tech company.

The book explores a Google like company, but one that surpasses Google in size, scope, earnings and influence. The main character is introduced as an unhappy, listlessly working post grad. I could definitely identify with parts of her as I imagine many recent post grads could. She gets a mediocre job but at the dream company; The Circle. Things are looking up for Mae as she starts her job for one of the most coveted employers in the world.

The longer Mae works at The Circle however the more we discover about the company. The pressures, the surveillance and the expectations of both the employees and the public involved with the company. The heat gets turned up and everyone's privacy diminishes.

I enjoyed the book but not as much as I had hoped or expected I would. Because I have my own ideas about these large companies I had a narrative I was hoping the book would follow. So in some ways I was setting myself up for failure. Eggers was writing the story not me.

We follow Mae down the rabbit hole but not in the way I was hoping. I felt like Eggers was going to take it further. We were beginning with such an exaggerated company that I was hoping the whole story would be over the top. In ways the story went overboard but in the end I felt like the book needed more and at the same time needed editing. The book is about 500 pages but there are some things introduced yet barely explored.

Although I was a bit disappointed with the book I still recommend it as an intriguing read and as an interesting reflection on current society and our relationship with technology as well as where that relationship can go.

Walker Staker Con!

Last weekend we headed out to Fort Mason in San Francisco to divulge in our nerdier side at Walker Stalker Con! For those who don't know we are HUGE Walking Dead fans (and we are so excited it came back on yesterday). The weekend was filled with cast panels, meet and greets with the cast, and a lot of people watching!

Gorgeous Fort Mason looked eerily like Terminus!

Monthly Mood - February

Happy February! Take a look below for what we are blogging, loving, and doing this month!

Blogging

We have quite a few fun things coming up on the blog this month! Ashley's new series Bring Your Pins to Life dives into different "Pins"! Our adventures at Walker Stalker Con and other day trips throughout the month. Rounding out some winter-y outfits on Fashion Fridays, even though it feels like Spring in California (sorry East Coast!). Look for a fun Galentines Day themed posts and some fun cocktails to celebrate! Also, some glamorous Oscar party ideas!

Loving

Online shopping! We recently were in LA and loved everything at TopShop so now we are checking on all of the sales. The return or The Walking Dead and the start of Better Call Saul is something we are really excited about. Loving the return of sunshine in California and the beginning of planning some upcoming trips!

Doing

So many exciting weekends! We are celebrating Galentines Day with cocktails and going to see 50 Shades of Grey with some girl friends. Both of our Mom's are celebrating big birthdays this month so we are exciting to spend some time with them. Ashley's looking forward to her Pearls and PJs Oscars party on the 22nd! Also, with the three days weekend coming up we will hopefully have something planned with friends.

What are you doing this month?
